Semiconductor Laboratory was established in 1984.  

   The  Semiconductor Laboratory has the mission to contribute to Taiwan's

semiconductor and MEMS  industries in the area of technological research and manpower training.

Besides  the  Hsinchu Science-base Industrial Park Administration, Semiconductor  Laboratory carries out the

training programs of semiconductor for  many organizations, including  the Industrial Development Bureau of the

Ministry of   Economic Affairs,the Employment and Vocational Training Administration and famous semiconductor

companies in Taiwan. 

   At the same time, Semiconductor Laboratory  execute R&D  programs. For example, the advanced solar cell for space, 

different kinds of electronic elements for car, different kinds of pressure sensor, ultra-low resistively power MOSFET,

the devices of MEMS, ... etc.

   Semiconductor Laboratory has very closely cooperation with EE department and other departments of NTHU . 

Semiconductor Laboratory has been managed and maintained the operation of  VLSI/ULSI laboratory, and it supplies

the processes and consultants  for  hundreds of postgraduates at EE department of NTHU.  To set-up EE department of

 NTHU possesses leading position in   the field of semiconductor and MEMS.

   Semiconductor Laboratory  also supports individual or complete foundry service/processes of  4 inch semiconductor

and environment inspection of clean room . Semiconductor Laboratory had supplied the consultants,  including  the different 

laboratory of ITRI and famous semiconductor companies in Taiwan.
